I work for a virtual company that provides resume evaluations by email to requesting career searchers. I have to do a lot of follow up work just to get this information to the requester because many times my email is sent to their bulk / spam folders never to be seen again. I have noticed this happens most with hotmail and aol addresses.
The emails have no attachments and do not include the word "free", so I am not sure why this happens. Are small businesses tagged by large email providers?
Any suggestions on improving this issue?
How can a company reduce loosing requested email communications to spam/bulk filters?
The best technique would be to get the requester to add your email address to their address book.
If the initial request is on a website that uses an embedded automated email. Then most sites that use that technique send an email to confirm registration when the requester clicks on the confirmation link this then should automatically add the web domain to the requesters safe senders list.
