What can i do about an owner who changed my email settings without my permission?

I belong to a group where the owner has decided that none of the members can be on No Email status. She freely admits she will go in and periodically change anyone with No Email to Special Notices. So far, i have changed my email preference three times back to MY choice. My settings are for my convenince, not a group owner. How do I report this violation to Yahoo?

I'm not sure if reporting her to Yahoo will be of any use. If she freely admits she can and will go in and change your settings, it almost sounds like this is a term of use that you agreed to when you joined. I am assuming you want to stay with this group, so leaving is not an option. I would send her an e-mail asking her not to include me in here special notices broadcasts, as you will not read them anyway. Then I would set up a filter, in the client program I use to read emails, to filter for messages from this group and automatically delete them. Or, more poetically, set it to forward them to her address. That way, if she doesn't abide by your request, she fills her own in basket with her unwanted messages.
Reply:So a group owner changing a member's email settings without that member's consent is not a violation of any of Yahoo's TOS or Use?? Report Abuse

Reply:Easy make a new email with the same name but different company and send it to your contacts.
